Hanwei Fixed Gas Detectors has Been Awarded SIL2 Certificate

On March 28, 2026, the High-End Instrument and Equipment Industry Development Conference was grandly opened in Beijing. During the conference, Hanwei WD and BS fixed gas detectors have been awarded SIL II certificate by TÜV Rheinland, an international testing, inspection and certification institution from Germany.

As a globally renowned third-party testing and certification institution, TÜV Rheinland adheres to internationally recognized strict standards and possesses professional credibility. Its certification mark serves as a quality pass for products to traverse the entire world. This time, obtaining the TÜV Rheinland certification marks Hanwei Electronics Group Corporation as the first Chinese domestic manufacturer in the gas detection industry to receive the functional safety certification from TÜV Rheinland. It is also the only Chinese domestic enterprise currently to have simultaneously obtained the functional safety (SIL2) certification and explosion-proof certification (ATEX / IECEx) for gas detectors.

The functional safety certification (SIL) and explosion-proof certification of instruments and meters are two core safety qualifications for high-risk scenarios in the process industry (such as petrochemicals, chemicals, oil and gas, coal mines, pharmaceuticals, etc.). They ensure the explosion-proof safety of the instruments and that, in safety-related systems, the safety functions can still be executed even in the event of a fault, thereby controlling risks at an acceptable level.

This not only demonstrates the recognition of Hanwei Electronics Group Corporation's products, but also reflects that Hanwei's gas detectors, centered on gas sensors, have reached the international advanced level in terms of technical capabilities, quality systems and safety standards.
